This 3-hour online tomosynthesis course for Medical Physicists is provided by Hologic for US customers. The 3 hours earned may be used towards the 8 hours required by the FDA for this new modality. The course consists of three modules: Introduction to Tomosynthesis, Selenia® Dimensions®   system Description and User Interface and Quality Control Procedures. After registering for the course, you will be prompted to provide your facility name and Hologic Field Service Engineer.  After you have provided this information, your registration will be sent for approval.  The approval process can take up to 24-48 hours or longer on weekends/holidays. Upon approval you will receive an email stating that you can continue with the course. Eight hours of training in breast tomosynthesis will be offered through Hologic. During installation, Hologic will provide 5 hours of training.  The additional 3 hours of required training may be completed online or in a live setting. This online interactive course for US customers, covers the theory and clinical use of Low Dose 3D™ imaging with 2D images created by the C-View™ software. This hour long training is presented as two modules, a didactic presentation and an interactive self-guided study-set. The didactic module includes the motivation and technical description of synthesized 2D images, presented by Andrew Smith, PhD, Vice President, Image Research for Hologic. It also includes clinical applications and case reviews, presented by Dr. Linda Greer, Medical Director for the HonorHealth Breast Health and Research Center, Phoenix, AZ. The interactive review module consists of 12 cases displaying actual DICOM tomosynthesis and C-View images. Following each case review and participant scoring, the case results and strategies for interpretation are presented. This is not a CME accredited course and available to US registrants only. Leading breast radiologists provide didactic instructional modules which prepare the participant for the two interactive self-guided study-sets. Each interactive review module consists of 20 cases displaying actual DICOM tomosynthesis images in a simulated reading environment, while maintaining full image integrity. Following each case review and participant scoring, the case results and strategies for interpretation are presented. This is not a CME accredited course and available only to US customers  with a valid registration code. Customers in Australia/New Zealand should contact their local agent for more information. This is intended for radiologists that have already received 8 hour of tomosynthesis training on a different vendor and now would like to review training specific to Hologic equipment.
