Dr. Damon Getman received his bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science at Humboldt State University and completed a laboratory medicine internship at General Hospital in Eureka, CA. He then earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of California, Davis and completed postdoctoral fellowship training at UC San Diego and the Salk Institute. He joined Gen-Probe in 1999 as Principal Scientist and worked in blood screening and women’s health diagnostics R&D for 14 years, then served as Director of Scientific and Medical Affairs for 2 years. He is now Scientific Director, Scientific Affairs for Women’s Health Diagnostics at Hologic.
Outside of his work at Hologic, Dr Getman also teaches a course on Diagnostic Device Product Development for scientists in the biotechnology industry at the University of California, San Diego.
