In this presentation we will address the public health concern of sexually transmitted infections(STIs) and how Universal Screening can improve patient care through established screening guidelines. Symptomatic STI testing and management for Trichomoniasis will be discussed as well as testing and treatment recommendations for Mycoplasma genitalium.

Dr. Tonya Chaffee, MD, MPH
Dr. Chaffee is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California – San Francisco at Zuckerberg San Francisco General.

• Pediatric residency, chief residency, and subspecialty fellowship training for adolescent medicine at the University of California – San Francisco
• Medical Director of the Child and Adolescent Support Advocacy and Resource Center
• Director of the Teen and Young Adult Health Center
• Active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine, Physicians for Reproductive Health

Dr. Derek Joyce, PhD
Dr. Joyce is a Medical Science Liaison with Hologic and has a research background in Molecular Biology.

• Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from University of California, Berkeley
• PhD at University of California, San Diego, performing his graduate research at the Salk Institute
