Erik Munson, PhD is an Associate Professor of Medical Laboratory Science at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. He is also an at-large member of the Wisconsin Clinical Laboratory Network Laboratory Technical Advisory Group.
Dr. Munson completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, his graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin, and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Prior to his current position, Dr. Munson directed microbiology, virology, serology, and molecular biology operations at Wheaton Franciscan Laboratory in Milwaukee.
Besides multi-disciplinary teaching, Dr. Munson’s interests include laboratory diagnosis of sexually-transmitted infections (including laboratory-developed testing), microbial taxonomy, and regional antimicrobial resistance assessments.
